TNA Meeting
September 13, 2004

1. Reports from our elected officials.

Norman Griffiths, City Council.

Wellness Fair – Rodney Square beginning at 12 noon., Saturday 18^th.

Council trying to move forward on funding sources for City. Will meet again to try to get more funds.

2. Police report, officers Heather Brown, Chris Villaverde.

1 ½ months -- since beginning of August. 1 assault investigation – not domestic related (on 22^nd St.). Disorderly conducts, but no reports (i.e., not serious enough). 2 robbery investigations (2400 block of Broom St.). 1 suicide investigation.

They have been spending a lot of tim in our neighborhood – e.g., 5 of an 8 hour shift. Sometimes

1800 block of Franklin. Heather caught a kid stealing a car stereo from a car with PA plates. She has the stereo but no one has reported it. Call Heather on her cell phone at: 463-4221.

Hakim (Craig Thornton) is out of prison and wanted by the police. Please call the police if you see him, and let them know where you’ve seen him.

3. Betty Carry, Mentoring Program at Warner School. HOSTS (Help One Student to Succeed) Program

Looking for people interested in coming in to work with students in a reading based mentoring program. 35-40 minutes per week. Daytime hours: between 9am and 2:30 pm. For more information: 302-425-3358.

4. John Rago, Constituent services number – any issues about city govt. 576-2489.

5. Halloween Parade. Falls on Halloween this year. Would like to start later this year so kids can go directly to trick-or-treating. Parade from 3:30-5pm, trick or treating following.

6. Meet the Candidates Night – in lieu of October Meeting – 4^th of October.

7. Progressive Party this Saturday.

8. Neighborhood Watch: Beth requested help with call for neighborhood watch. Nicole Tryon.

9. Frank Joyce, Triangle Neighborhood Garden won third place in the City Gardens Contest (150 entries, 25 categories, 4 prizes in each category). Prize: watering bucket.

10. Voted to join Civic League again this year. Meg Hudson will attend meetings.

11. Yard Sale report, Meg Hudson. 27 houses participated. Success!
